Little Miss Sunshine

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

Still working at The Mobile Solution, and still meeting more new people everyday than somebody with Alzheimer’s… but yeah, things are good. I have more money now. Would like to have even more money, but I don’t work in White Marsh. Meh.

I saw Little Miss Sunshine last night. Fuckin’ hysterical. Especially when the door falls off the VW Bus. I didn’t ruin it, you had to be there.

My Redskins are 0-2… what in the flaming fuck happened? We have so much talent, so I’m confused. I watched both games, but now I won’t be able to watch any, because they all start at 1pm or 4pm. But I will be able to watch the last game of the season against the Giants… hopefully things are better the next time I get to watch them.

My car needs oil. May try to do it myself.

Gotta go, keep on doin what you’re doin and quit being anal buccaneers.

Erik Myers!

Tuesday, May 24th, 2005

I subscribe to the mailing list for the Baltimore Improv and when I checked my email today, well one of the many times I checked it today, I saw that Erik Myers is performing there this Thursday thru Sunday (26-29th) and immediately I thought if this was the same Erik Myers who I knew from Oakland Mills Middle School. I think he is. The Erik Myers I knew was always hysterical so I am not at all surprised by him becoming a stand-up comedian.

So I plan to be there this weekend for one of his shows.

Here is an interview I found and I also found this.

update: very early on 5/30
Went to his Sunday show…fuckin hysterical!

Latest movie reviews (GUESS WHO, THE RING TWO, and ROBOTS)

ROBOTS
There’s so many stars in this movie, but the best has to be Robin Williams, without a doubt. He completely stole this movie. Too bad a few of his great lines were stolen by the preview, but he did have enough to spare. All in all, this is a film kids and adults will enjoy together, for different reasons. It’s on sound moral grounds as well. It has a great message that everybody is spedecial and that everybody can accomplish anything. Take the kids, the dogs, the cats, the gerbials, and the goldfish, they can all benefit.

THE RING TWO
You cannot say that about this one. Take yourself, and maybe a friend, if you want to see him/her suffer a slow and painful death. 7 days? Forget that shit, this will kill you in 2 hours. It’s basically a continutation from the first movie, but uses most of the same gags. The big difference? It tries to get all Exorcist on your ass. That’s right, Samara now wants to possess Aidan! It’s not completely devoid of horror, the scene in which Samara climbs out of the well to chase after Rachel, that’s truly terrifying. But that’s about it. Can’t wait for DARK WATER. That looks like THE RING THREE. (That was sarcasm.)

GUESS WHO
Let’s give it up for racist jokes! Yeah! Okay, so this movie is clearly about race, and that pisses me off. We already have plenty of focus on differences, yet we need Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher to show us more? Okay okay, I’m being a hardass here, Bernie and Ashton have excellent chemisty and are hysterical, and it was too funny to see my friend Dana shout out “ASTRO TURF!” at the top of her lungs before any of the characters on the screen did. OMFG. She also enjoyed when the movie ridiculed the common myth about white guys and their penii. I’m going to stop there. Anyway, this is a movie you can take the kids to, it’s not too overtop with violence, and there’s no drug content. Yay for Hollywood, that’s 2 out of 3 today for kid friendly pictures.

77th Annual Oscar Nominations!

Tuesday, January 25th, 2005

I know, I’ve been lazy about posting a “best of” list of films for 2004 like I have done every other year of this blog (2), but this past year, I saw mostly craptastic films, with a few exceptions. SIDEWAYS, for starters. That movie is so hysterical. Thomas Haden Church (yes that dude from Wings and Ned & Stacy) is up for best supporting actor for his role in that. He should win it and his career should be back on track!

So, in a prequel to my best of list, I will list the movies I still need to see:
FINDING NEVERLAND
MILLION DOLLAR BABY
THE AVIATOR
COLLATERAL
ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND
KINSEY
THE POLAR EXPRESS
THE MOTORCYCLE DIARIES
SUPER SIZE ME
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA
HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS
RAY

That’s about it, there are other movies up for Oscars that I haven’t seen, but I don’t really have a desire to see them.
