Identity

Sigh, another movie in which John Cusack gets rained on...okay, that's not so bad, and the gorgeous Amanda Peet isn't either, but I left this movie feeling cheated. If I had a short-term memory problem, I may have liked this, but I don't, and the plot changes so much, it totally makes the early part of the movie... stupid. I don't want to spoil anything, but I just felt cheated.

Spoilers below...

I hate "it was all a dream" movies. When they introduced this into the plot, it made the beginning make no sense. If Ray Liotta wasn't really a cop, then why would be be abusing his convict (who was really his friend) when no other character was around?

Some more questions...who was the real Martin? Was it John Cusack's character?

I knew the kid was the killer all along, altho briefly at the end I was leaning towards it being Amanda Peet's character, as I thought the kid was dead, but yeah, the kid was at every murder, and indirectly caused every murder. Well a few he wasn't, again, the plot has so many holes.

This movie makes you think, but not in the good way, it's like when somebody says something stupid and then doesn't say anything else, leaving you to constantly wonder what the fuck is going on.

PS Amanda Peet can bear my children. I love her.

    Don't read this if you have not seen the movie as my comments give away the ending!
    Just saw the movie Identity and although I believe it to be physically impossible for the kid to be the murderer ( shoving a baseball bat down someones throat, cutting off someones head) a few things have me stumped. For example, I am confused as to how the timing relates as to the end with the kid about to kill the Amanda Peet character while at the same time the prisoner is mimicking the same words. The prisoner is being transported four years after the event at the motel. The scene with the kid about to kill Peet occurs a few days after the killings at the hotel? I give-- anyone figure that one out? The killer;s multiple personalities make you wonder whether the Ed character existed in the same physical form.

    All the people at the hotel are the personalities of the serial killer (the fat bald guy we see at the end) and the whole hotel part of the story wasn't real at all. It was all a 'treatment' by the doctors to kill off all the personalities except for the real one.

I just can't get enough of family guy ...here's an example from the episode in which Chris gets a job as a paperboy and some old guy tries to get to lure Chris into his basement to...um....play chess? yeah, let's just say that.
